Frequently asked questions

How does the IGCSE grade calculator work?
Pick your board, subject and exam session, then enter your total mark. The calculator compares it against the real grade boundaries for that session and shows your estimated grade. It’s an estimate to guide revision, not an official result.
Are the grade boundaries on this site official?
The figures come from official Cambridge (CAIE) and Edexcel grade-threshold releases. We aggregate them into clean tables. Boundaries can be revised, so always confirm important numbers with your exam board.
Why do IGCSE grade boundaries change every session?
Boundaries are set after each exam so that a grade means the same thing regardless of how hard that paper was. If a paper is harder, boundaries usually drop; if it’s easier, they rise. That’s why the mark for a grade 9 differs between June and November.
What percentage do I need for a grade 9 in IGCSE?
There’s no fixed percentage — it depends on the subject and session, but a 9 typically needs somewhere in the high 80s to low 90s. Use the percentage-to-grade converter for your specific subject to see the real figure.
Does this work for both Cambridge and Edexcel?
Yes. We cover Cambridge (CAIE) and Edexcel International GCSE subjects, each with their own boundaries and grading scale (9–1 or A*–G depending on the qualification).
Is IGCSE Grade Hub free?
Completely free. No account, no sign-up — open the calculator or a subject page and start using it.

Independent study tool. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Cambridge Assessment International Education or Pearson Edexcel. Grade boundary figures are sourced from official releases; always confirm with your exam board.
